Stop At: Volterra🏛️🌅
Your driver will pick you up at Livorno Terminal Cruise, and will take you on a drive through the hills of Tuscany.
First stop will be in Volterrra:
Volterra is a beautiful walled city, perched on a hilltop and offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The town, once one of the capitals of the ancient Etruscan civilization, still retains many historical treasures from this era. You’ll find original Etruscan gates and ruins scattered throughout the town, giving you a glimpse into its ancient past. The Etruscan Museum showcases a vast collection of artifacts, including urns, sculptures, and pottery from the Etruscan and Roman periods.
Among the must-see sites are the Roman Theater, which dates back to the 1st century BC and offers a fascinating insight into the entertainment of ancient Volterra. The Baptistery is another notable site, with its beautiful medieval architecture. The Palazzo dei Priori, the town hall, stands proudly in the main square and is one of the oldest municipal buildings in Tuscany. For lunch, we’ll take you to the charming Podere La Marronaia – Le Colonne Biodynamic Winery & Farm, a family-run Tuscan gem where authenticity and nature come together for an unforgettable experience.

Your journey continues to San Gimignano, the enchanting “Town of Fine Towers.” Set atop a hill overlooking Tuscany’s rolling vineyards, this medieval gem is a living open-air museum.
Wander its picturesque cobblestone streets, where over 70 towers once stood, symbolizing the wealth and power of the town’s noble families. Today, 14 towers remain, creating a skyline unlike any other in Tuscany. Explore charming alleyways lined with artisan shops, offering handcrafted ceramics, leather goods, and local delicacies.
San Gimignano is also a gastronomic treasure, renowned for its Vernaccia di San Gimignano wine, golden saffron, and the famed Golden Ham. Don’t miss a visit to the main square to indulge in the world’s best gelato at Gelateria Dondoli, a treat as iconic as the town itself.
